Teaching

  • Teaching of tutorials and laboratory exercises of the students of the M.Sc. in Optoelectronics, in the University of Essex, U.K. (1974 – 1977).
  • Undergraduate teaching on subjects such as Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Applied Optics, Laboratory Physics, Optoelectronics, Lasers, Laser Applications, etc. in the N.T.U.A. (1980 – today).
  • Postgraduate teaching on subjects such as Physics and Laser Technology, Lasers and Electrooptical Systems, Optoelectronics, Applications of Lasers in Biomedicine and Environment, Laser Physics ant Technology for Medical Applications, Physics of Technological Material, etc. in the N.T.U.A. (1990 – today).
  • Creation and development of students’ laboratory experiments in N.T.U.A. on:
    • 20 Watts c.w. CO2 laser and its application on material processing,
    • Ruby laser and its applications on the construction of ohmic contacts in semiconductors,
    • Nd:YAG laser and its applications on rangefinding and second harmonic generation,
    • CO2 and N2 laser and their biomedical applications,
    • The electrooptic effect and the optical activity effect,
    • The optical bistability on ZnSe filters,
    • Transmission of voice and TV images with modulated He-Ne lasers,
    • Telecommunication systems with fiber optics, etc.
  • Tuition of over 85 students of the N.T.U.A. for their final year thesis,
  • Tuition of 25 postgraduate students of the N.T.U.A. for their M.Sc. thesis,
  • Supervisor for 11 Ph.D. students of the N.T.U.A.,
  • Supervision of 22 Ph.D. students (as one of the three members of their Ph.D. Committee) in N.T.U.A., other Greek Universities and abroad,
  • Teaching under the Erasmus scheme:
    • Postgraduate teaching in the Carol Davila Medical University of Bucharest, Romania,
    • Postgraduate teaching in the Physics Department of the Herriot-Watt University, U.K.,
    • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the Physics Department, Science Faculty, University of Istanbul, Turkey.
