Milos Island can be reached from Athens by air and by boat.
From Athens by air: From the International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos there are everyday flights to the island of Milos (MLO) by Olympic airlines. The Milos National airport is just outside the city and the 5 minute ride to the city-port Adamanta (or Adamas) by taxi (Tel: +302287022219).
From Athens by boat: From the port Piraeus there are daily boats to the island of Milos.
The catamaran is the fastest solution. Usually two companies, the Aegean Speed Lines or the Hellenic Seaways, operate this route. Its duration is approximately 4 - 4.5 hours and the routes are daily departures from Piraeus. The cost is estimated at 50€, more expensive than conventional ferries while the car is at the same price.
The most effective solutions economically is conventional ships of Ventouris or Zante companies. The journey time varies depending on the route from 5 to 7.5 hours. More information at www.ferries.gr.
