The Laboratory «Laboratory of Optoelectronics, Lasers and their Applications» of NTUA was founded in 2016 (FEK 2407/04-08-2016) as a natural evolution of research team «Laser Development and their Applications» of NTUA's Department of Physics, whose members have been active in the field since the early 1980s. The main objective of the research team initially and after Laboratory's has been to serve the educational and research needs of NTUA in the fields of optoelectronics, laser and their general applications.
The Laser Development and Applications Team (OAEL), along with the Laser Remote Sensing Unit (LRSU) and the Group of Materials Laser Microprocessing (GMLM) are the Laboratory's sub-teams.
