Copying and Pasting

You can copy and paste text from one window to another. You can copy text in every window that permits selecting, and you can paste into every window that permits editing.

To copy and paste:

Select the text you would like to copy.
Drag the mouse pointer over the text while holding down the left mouse button, o double-click a word.
Right-click the selection. A pop-up menu appears.
Select Copy. The text is copied into the clipboard, and it remains there until the next time you copy text.
Right-click in the window where you want to insert the text.
Select Paste. The text is inserted.

Tip

You can also paste text into text fields of dialog boxes. For some dialog boxes, such as the Find dialog box, the text from the clipboard is pasted automatically.
